“ A couple friends and I swung by before and after a Timbers game and it's a sports bar. It was insanely busy during both visits, but they were right on top of things. Our food and drinks came quick. For a $12ish burger, it hit the spot. It was a little small but who isn't selling smaller food these days. The beer was cold and that makes up for the small burger at least. ”
“ One of the best sports Bars in Portland. Tons of TVs. Great diner style food. Awesome service. Great prices. Old school Portland. ”
“ A fun and friendly sports bar. All the bartenders are really cool but Kristen and Brian stand out as my 2 personal favorites! ”
“ Love coming to the Kingston after Timbers' games with my daughter and her coworkers. Waitress is very friendly and the chicken tenders are delicious. I had two Dirty Shirleys last time and was feeling quite nice after! Atmosphere is great whether the Timbers win or lose. ”
“ Great place lots of history here. Great breakfast in the morning. Friendly also! Breakfast Specials ”
“ I've been stopping here for many decades, usually for Sunday morning b'fast or a brew if I happen to be in that area of town in the evening. I'ts a nice, friendly bar. Not quite a dive bar but close. Parking can be iffy although rarely a problem on Sunday mornings or later in the evening. As others have mention, being adjacent to the stadium it is usually packed as soon as a game lets out. If you don't care for people or sports bars (which aptly describes me) best to avoid the joint during prime time. Food is "ok". Beer on tap is what you'd expect. The have a full bar (not that I care). Wall-to-wall TVs tuned to every sports channel on the planet (again, not that I care). Service can be slow. Seems like every time I am there it's just the barkeep doubling as the waitress. Wait staff (almost always a woman) treats me great but seem to be a bit snippy toward female patrons. Why is anyone's guess. Are women poor tippers or something? I don't go here if I am in a hurry so slow-ish service does not annoy me so long as they get that first brew or cuppa Joe to me quickly. There aren't a lot of good dive bars along West Burnside or if they are, I've been happy enough with the Kingston to not go out scouting for others. I tend to like bars that have been around since my Grandfather was a kid so the Kingston suits me just fine. NOTE TO THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT: A paper thin slice of ham is not "A thick slice of ham". Either pony up a bigger slice of pig or change your menu. ”
